HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! WHOOHOOOO!!!

And here it is, my little nerdlings!  This is what I had been leading up to on FB with my countdown this week!  The artwork is by the creative and masterful hands of Chris Butler!  The rest was Photoshopped by the boss.  Thanks, Chris!  Wow, so sexy!  What a way to bring in the new year!

What a year we all had, and what a year ahead!  And according to some people, this might be THE year - the end of the world!  Yikes!  Well, it might feel like the end of the world come November once we find out who was elected or reelected president! LOL

I thank you all for reading my blog and for friending me on FB.  It's because of you good folks that I keep writing, and I hope that you enjoy reading what I write - even if you don't always agree with my opinions.  ;-)

So let's get started on this new year, friends!  Whoohoo!  :-D

Happy Valentine's Day! What I love...

In honor of Valentine's Day, today I am going to list what I love!

<3 <3 <3 <--no, those aren't boobs, they're hearts!

By the way, this list does not pretend to be comprehensive. I'm just going off of the top of my head, here. I may add others later.

I love:

* Shopping! For those who love shopping, no explanation is necessary, for those who don't, no explanation is possible. ;-)

* Comics! Always have, and probably always will. :-D

* Being a superhero! Nothing like punching bad guys and saving the world, and not necessarily in that order!

* Strawberry shortcake sundaes! Mmmmmmmm!!!

* Football and baseball!

* Having big boobs! Yeah, they're heavy, they tend to get in the way, stuff falls into my bra a lot, people tend to look there instead of up here (pointing to face), they stretch out my tops.... uh, what was my point again? Oh yeah! Big boobs! Awesome! :-D

* Liberals! Even if they do drive me nuts! But I drive them nuts as well! LOL X-D

* Blogging! Meesa <3's writing as a blogging superhero!

* My readers! Sometimes you guys and gals can really make my day!

* Facebook! Who knew that I had so many "friends"? :-)

* Artworks done of me! During my whole experience as a blogging superhero, seeing the many different interpretations of me as done by many artists has been the most enjoyable part of it! And hey, I would love more artwork from you all, especially by those who haven't done artwork of me yet!

* And yeah, I <3 flowers. :-D

That's it for now! More is likely to come, and probably on Facebook.

Don't you guys just feel the love?

Have a Happy Valentine's Day! <3 <3 <3

"Wish me Merry Christmas" shirt now in mens!

Okay, dudes! Now you can join your lady friends in being wished Merry Christmas! I finally finished a t-shirt for you to wear!

And as with the ladies, if you get the shirt and if you're willing, then send me a pic of you wearing it, and I'll post it to my blog! This is even if it's past Christmas.

Man, I hope this catches on. It will be so cool! :-D

"It's okay to wish me Merry Christmas" - now in a t-shirt!

Yesterday on Facebook, I posted that it was okay to wish me Merry Christmas, even if you're not Christian. Well, the boss made a t-shirt design for me, and I then made a t-shirt out of it and posted it to Zazzle!

Thing is, friends, it really IS okay to wish me Merry Christmas! I promise that I won't be offended! So please don't give me the generic "Happy Holidays" or the even worse and perplexing "Seasons Greetings" (what the hell does that mean, anyway?). Just say Merry Christmas and know that I'll be one happy Yuletide camper!

Why did it become offensive to use the name of the holiday anyway? It's like everyone suddenly becomes Captain Marvel Jr at Christmastime and participates in the holiday in every other way except to call it what it is. Why do I say "Captain Marvel Jr", do you ask? Well, CMJr can do everything that CM can do, except say his name! If CMJr is asked his name and he says "Captain Marvel", then lightning strikes, and he's turned back into his unpowered human self! And that can be bad if he's in the middle of a fight! In case you don't already know, all the Marvels have a magic word that causes lightning to strike to turn them into their Marvel-ous selves. Everyone else says SHAZAM! - except CMJr, who has to say "Captain Marvel!" Why does he have a different magic word? Apparently the creator of CMJr hadn't thought that through! LOL

Anyway, that is apparently what happens at Christmastime: Everyone becomes a Yuletide CMJr and becomes afraid of saying Merry Christmas and becoming depowered like CMJr does when he says Captain Marvel. Well, I'm here to say that it won't happen. If anything, you'll be EMpowered rather than depowered. I say take back the holiday, and wish everyone in the way they should be wished, and had been wished before saying that became a victim of politically correct nuttiness.

And to be even more daring, buy the shirt! Even though I am a capitalist pig, I feel so strongly about this issue that I will make absolutely no profit from this. All the money spent will be going to Zazzle and not me. Currently, I have it only in women's, because I didn't like how any of the guys' shirts turned out, but I'll keep working on it and try to have it posted later today. Oh, and if you do buy the shirt, please mail me a pic of you in it, and I'll post it to my blog! Since it's getting close to Christmas, I'll be posting them after the big day, so feel free to send the pic to me even if it's after Christmas.

And before someone starts telling me - yes, not everyone is Christian and not everyone celebrates Christmas, and yes, the holiday has gotten too commercialized, and yadayadyada... For one, no one seems to have a problem saying Happy Hanukkah or Holy Ramadan or even Joyous Festivus, but freaks out when it comes to saying Merry Christmas. I am here to say, "Why?" Why not say Merry Christmas? If anyone gives you any grief about it, then it says more about them than it does about you, because you weren't wishing them ill. Quite the opposite, so why should they be offended? If they continue to be bothered, then direct them to this blog entry so that they can post their comments on it below, and I'll deal with them from there. We can win this holiday back, my friends, if we stick together!

Ahh, I feel good! It must be that ol' Christmas spirit! :-D

My Internet connection is back! And it's Mardi Gras! Whoohoo!

Yaay! The repair people got the power back on, and I can now get on the Internet and STAY on the Internet! Whooohoo!

And just in time for Mardi Gras! As good a reason to celebrate as any!

Now that things are returning to normal, I can get back to my writing. See, I didn't want to keep my laptop on when the power was out because I didn't know when the power would come back on. When the power went out, I would complete a thought or a sentence, then turn it off to save its energy. I ended up having to do that quite a bit, and it was messing with my writing mojo.

Anyway, now I can get back to the stuff that's saved on my computer. I'll try to have something posted on Thursday. In the meantime, go enjoy yourselves out there, but be safe!

A very Merry Christmas to you all.

Hey, gang.

Sorry I couldn't get to my blog very much this week, but as I imagine it must have been for you, it's been a crazy week for me. Still, I have stuff "on the plate" that I want to post, but I'll save for next week, because I don't want to rush through it.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and I hope you enjoy your day today.

My mission for December: To fight Yulephobia

So what is Yulephobia? (pronounced "yool-uh-foe-bee-uh")

It's the irrational fear of many retailers, news media, and most of your run-of-the-mill liberals to say the word "Christmas", even during the Christmas season. They fear saying it, because they don't want to offend non-Christians, even though nearly all non-Christians know that the vast majority of U.S. citizens are Christian. Subconsciously, sufferers of Yulephobia also fear that they might themselves become Christian if they utter the word "Christmas". For that crowd, being a Christian is the antithesis of being "open-minded, tolerant, enlightened and intellectual", and they just can't have that, dontchaknow.

In other words, it's yet another example of PC crap run amok. According to the PC crowd, Americans are a hypersensitive population just waiting for something to be offended by - and it's even become a regular source of income for various lawyers who specialize in these types of "outrage" lawsuits. For some reason, the world will go to hell in a handbasket if we were to ever to utter the word "Christmas" publicly, which is why we have instead "Happy Holidays", or "Season's Greetings" (by the way, I never understood that. Why are we greeting seasons?), or "Winter Festival" or "Sparkle Season" and other such bland crap all in the name of being inoffensive.

But you know what? I'm offended by this push to push out all things Christmas. Does my being offended count among that PC crowd? Of course not. The most I'll get is "I'm sorry you're offended, but..." blahblahblah and other such blathering nonsense as to why we can't say Christmas publicly. So I say - the hell with that; I'm fighting back!

For the rest of this month, I will be on patrol for any and all examples of Christmas PC nuttiness, and I'll post it here just so that you all can see how insane some of this gets. It's my goal to help the sufferers of Yulephobia to get over their phobia and to join in with the rest of us. I'm not saying that they should convert to Christianity - this is not about proselytizing - but instead to have the correct understand of the true meaning of Christmas. So in the coming weeks, watch for my Yulephobia Alerts, and feel free to forward any examples that you also come across in news reports, retail advertising, and anywhere else you might see it.

Imagine if the producers of the movie A Dog Named Christmas had caved in to the PC nuts and renamed it "A Dog Named Holiday". See how stupid that sounds? The title also loses all of its meaning related to what the movie is about. This is why I am going to fight this fight.

By the way, I had a great Thanksgiving, and I hope you did, too. :-)

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Hello! I apologize for not having my review of Monsters vs. Aliens up this week, but my friends, I have been that busy getting ready for turkey day! However, I did want to take a moment to express my gratitude to all of you who read my blog and especially for those of you who respond to what I've said here, both by e-mail and in person. Whether you agreed or disagreed with what I've said, I still inspired you to respond, and that's all any writer can ask. After all, the last thing any writer wants is to be boring!

I also want to extend a "thank you" to my boss, John, who encouraged me to start this blog and who has also been my editor, my idea man, and even my drill sergeant during the time that I've written this blog, which has gone on for about 18 months now. He once told me that the two year point is where we will see how things will be going from here on in. If, after two years, I still find the desire, the motivation, and the topics to keep on blogging, then I'm doing pretty good. After two years is also when you start getting noticed by others, because by then you've developed a style to your writing that your readers will identify you with. For me, it seems to have been my conservatism.

Time will tell if my readership will eventually go "viral"; and to be honest, I don't know what I would do if I become some sort of national phenom. The odds are against it anyway, so there really isn't anything to worry about. For one, I'm conservative, and no national new source is going to give "press" or "air time" to a conservative. Hell, look how they treat Sarah Palin! And for another, I am one blog among literally millions, so I would have to be that good in order to be something that goes "viral". And anyway, I write because I like it, not because I have any plans or desires to be a "viral" sensation. If it happens, then I'll deal with it. If not, then at least I tried this idea out. Either way, I'm good. By the way, the two year mark is March 2010.

So anyway, a Happy Thanksgiving to you all! Be grateful for all your blessings, as I am for the many blessings I have, including you, my readers. May God guide you in all that you do.

Take care and see you next week!

Memorial Day

Days like today are often viewed as a "right wing" holiday, but I don't see why that should be so. Our soldiers and other military personnel went to fight for our freedoms for everyone in the nation, not just right wingers. This holiday is simply to remember our fallen heroes, and to recall their sacrifices and why they went to fight the battles that they fought.

And before some left winger starts reading me the riot act about how our military has had its share of mistakes, I will be the first to admit that. We are not a perfect nation, and we will never be perfect. However, I do believe that we are still - despite the best efforts of our nation's left wingers - the best country on the planet. We are the realization of a dream of many leaders and philosophers of the past.

In regards to this holiday, I think the quote attributed to Gen. George S. Patton said it best: "It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived." Amen to that.

Happy New Year!

Just a quick note to wish you all a Happy New Year!

Boy, the past year went by fast!
