Superman comics on USA Today

I didn't know this, but the Superman stories that have been appearing in the 12 week DC project, Wednesday Comics, have also been appearing on the USA Today website.

So if you want a taste of what the rest of the Wed comics publication is about, check out that site.

By the way, I was initially excited about the project, but now I had actually forgotten to get last week's issue (I'll be getting it later today, along with today's issue). I guess it's hard to keep interest a page at a time over 12 weeks. Next time, I suggest a format as follows:

(Note: the heroes listed are only being used as examples, and not meant to suggest that "this hero" needs to run at "this time")

1st 3 weeks:
Superman story, broken into 4-page chapters over three weeks
Green Arrow story, same format
Doctor Fate, etc.
Doom Patrol, etc.

And then the format starts over with a different set of heroes and a super team for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th sets of 3 weeks.

I think the art, writing, and concept are all good, it's just the trying to follow along one page a week that makes reading the story a bit jerky and jarring in a start-stop, start-stop, start-stop kind of way. Having 4 page chapters would give a little flexibility in developing a story, as well as keeping the reading flow from starting and stopping so abruptly.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

I agree. Also if you are doing other stuff during the week, you'll lose track of what went during the last issue.

Also, how is the Avatar contest coming along? Have you received any more entries since you and your boss cancelled it?

Will you also be posting the entries you received so far when you present your 200th post?

No avatar contest as of this time. We might reconsider it in January. As for whether the entries from the previous contest will be presented here, the answer is the same as before: Since the winner was supposed to be paid for their work and since we didn't declare a winner, it wouldn't be fair to the artists to run their work on my blog, because one of them was supposed to be paid for it. It would look otherwise like we are trying to use their work for free. So no, the entries will not be run here.
